ISRO to promote Science education - Opportunity for retired hands !

ISRO Scientists involved in MOM were felicitated by State Govt.  A special function was organised in the old Assembly Hall in the Secretariat.

 

The highlight of the felicitation programme is the announcement by Chairman, ISRO, that ISRO will  take steps to promote Science Education and Reasearch among students. That's certainly an additional golden step in delivering ISRO's  social responsibilites. 

I hope, ISRO Pensioner Associations  realise the  great opportunity !

Pre-Budget meetings ! Worrysome ?

Fin Ministry starts pre-budget review meetings from 3 Nov.  This is to firm up Revised Budget Estimates for 2014-15 and Budget Estimates for 2015-16. There will be a series of  meetings with officials of all Ministries and Departments.

If you think "How does it matter to us ?', no... no... it's very very important for us Pensioners.

Financial allocations for our Pensions and implementation of OROP (not only for the Defence  pensioners, but also for other Central Govt Pensioners)  is important to all of us.  Do you get it !!  ??

Regular pension payments will find a place in the Budget. All in-laws of the Ministry personnel will remind them to include necessary allocations. But  we should worry about allocations for implemnting  the OROP / Full parity.  Let's pray and hope all Pensioner Associations take up and remind them to do that.

I am sorry about my brothers in Korea.  This paper report (from Business Line) makes me think how fortunate I am, being an Indian ! And how unfortunate my South Korean brothers are !!

Mr.Manoj, well known to many of us who were associated with Sounding Rockets and Launch Vehicles  is no more. 
B.Manoj kumar, GD, Launch Vehicle Intgration and Checkout  died of  a Cardiac arrest.
May his soul rest in peace.

GSLV - Mk III

GSLV Mk III is about to be a reality. The launch will be in about 45 days' time. Chairman , ISRO, announced this yesterday.
GSLV-MkIII is the heaviest Indian Satellite Launch Vehicle, with a payload of 4500-5000 kg.

October 16

October 16 is a great day for ISRO.  Exactly 20 years ago, on 16 Oct 1994, the PSLV-D2 mission was successfully done, from SHAR. That day, at 10.35 AM, the vehicle took off and injected the IRS-P2 satellite into the 825 KM orbit.
Dr. Kasthurirangan, the then Chairman of ISRO, said ; "It's agreat day for ISRO and a great day for India".

Today is an October 16.  ISRO just launched its PSLV-C26 with the IRNSS-1C .

Being an Ex-ISROite, do you feel that you have been like a 'Pressure Cooker' anytime during your service ?
Yes, for some of you. Certainly not for all !

During my service, I have seen many "Pressure cookers'. But, most of the people, I am sure , were like the North pole !  or more like a vacuum chamber !!
