Bank charges you may not know about !
Banks may be levying you charges, without your knowledge.  Here are some cases :

2.       Paying your  Credit Card  dues  by cashattracts a charge of Rs. 100/- . Pay on-line to avoid such levies.
3.       Exceeding the Credit limit on your Credit Card transactions attracts a 1% additional fee on the overdrawn amount.
4.       If you transfer the balance due on a Credit Card to another Card, a balance transfer fee as high as 4% is levied.
5.       You are penalized if you are not operating your Bank account frequently. For such dormant accounts or non-operative accounts ( inoperative time duration  differ) ,  a penalty as high as Rs. 250/- per quarter is charged.
6.       Service alerts are becoming costly for you. Sending Alerts/SMS messages/Emails on your transactions  is now being  charged by some Banks (Rs. 60?-per annum ).

Safe  e-Banking
With the Netbanking facilities offered by most of the Banks, we are in a position to do banking operations right from our homes. That’s banking on our finger-tips !
But, of late, cybercrimes are on the rise, making our banking unsafe. It’s mostly our careless attitude that we  make our e-banking prone to frauds. The banks have publicized a lot of DOs and DONTs regarding e-banking. However, here are a few very IMPORTANT points to be noted and adhered to.
Never hand over your ATM/Credit/Debit card to someone else , to swipe or handle on your behalf.
Never share your PIN number or passwords to anyone.
Never write down the PIN number on the card.
At sales outlets/petrol bunks, if you use your card, DO NOT give the card and PIN to the attendant. Instead, swipe and punch the PIN yourself.
Register your mobile phone number with the Bank. They’ll send you a message for every transaction  you had. This way, you will know of any fraudulent transactions too.
Keep changing your Net-banking password and PIN number frequently.
