I am sure, you all are aware that it's time for all Pensioners to submit their LIFE CERTIFICATE to the respective Pension Disbursing Bank.
The Certificate can be given any day from Nov 1 to December 31.
As you may know, now there are many ways of submitting this to your Bank.
You may visit the branch and submit the same, by duly authenticating your biometric identity.
Alternately, bank may ask you to sign a format, with details filled up, and submit.
However, the most publicised method is through "Jeevan Pramaan", a web portal exclusively for this purpose. Though it can be given right from your home (using your Computer or Smart phone), please note that you need a Biometric Device for this. Most of us won't have one !
And surprisingly, there exists a simpler method ! Dept. of Posts offers an execellant service, right at your doorstep.
Call your PostOffice or Postman and ask him to take a Life Certificate from you. He will come to you with a Phone and Biometric finger scanner. Give him your details :
Phone number, Bank account number, Aadhaar number, and email id. ( The numbers must have already been linked, else you can't !)
He will complete the process in a couple of minutes and you'll get a message to that effect, with Jeevan Pramaan ID. The details will automaticaly go to the Pension paying Bank too.
You need to pay the fee of Rs. 70/- for this service.
Once this is done, you log-in to Jeevanpramaan.gov.in. At the top right corner, you'll see a link "Pensioner sign-in".
Click the link and it will ask you to enter the JeevanPramaan Id. Enter the ID number, and you'll see the certificate. Download and retain the same. You may take a print to keep, if you desire so.
