Aadhaar for Pension ?

The unique identity number 'Aadhaar'  will be included in the Pension Book of every Government Pensioner. The Govt's move may be prompted at curbing the number of ghost pensioners !!

No...No... This is not a news item until now. But this may become  true  in the coming days.

But the truth today is that " The unique identity number 'Aadhaar'  will be included in the Service Book of every Government employee. The Govt's move may be prompted at curbing the number of ghost employees in various departments."

Prune government flab - and Pensions ?

Today's  editorial in the Business Line is very important not just for the Economists and finance personnel, but also for us Pensioners.
In an effort to curb the non-plan expenditure,  the Editor points out  that the main area to be looked at is the "pay, allowances, and pensions of Central staff".
Editor highlights that :
The Subsidies are  2.6 Lakh crores;  Salaries and pensions  take  2.2 lakh crores (90000 crores for pensions), and the amount is about to rise sharply after the 7CPC.
This is alarming and needs to be addressed to .

Please read the news below (from HINDU dt 1-11-14).  I think we can read more to it than what it says !  OROP / Full parity  for the Central pensioners may face a  total block !!   But, .....

But, why is that there is no news about the bloated Project costs ?  Cost over-runs just due to inefficiency of implenting and monitoring agencies ?  Costs on misuse of Government resources ?
None of these are challenges to the Finance Misnister or Government. Why ??
