MOM's forgotten men !

This week's THE WEEK has the cover story on Mars Orbital Mission. It focuses on the 'Men who realised MOM'. That's how it is " MOM's MEN" !

When MOM made history,  those men made victory. But, not all MOM's men are now on the victory stand.  That's why I try to remember all the MOM's forgotten men.  They were MOM's men sometime back, may not be today. Their date of birth got them off the victory stand.  But, they too were the real men, MOM would like to remember !!

A lesson for the Dept Chiefs

This is another paper report on 26th.  We feel sorry that two of our Big Shots have been sentenced for imprisonment, by the Madras High Court.  What and why of the case is explained in the above report.
As you may see, it's contempt of Court ! 

If this happens, many of our Dept Chiefs would feel a  tremor in their spine.. We, pensioners, still run behind the Judiciary for justice from the Department.  Inspite of  clear Court orders, our Dept Chiefs distort the facts and are not implementing the Court orders (for whose pleasure?, no idea !!)   Infact, none of us would like even to think of our ISRO Chief being  sentenced for imprisonment, for not implementing the Justice.

I am sure you all will join  me to pray " Let not the sword of  Law fall on ISRO chief  (or any other official) for  denial of Justice to its employees and Pensioners". But, it's upto them to realise !!

MOM - public opinions

We all must be happy that atleast someone among the public thinks a bit different !

If it was a  Cricket World Cup win on the 24th, you can imagine the euphoria the public would have shown. But with the success of MOM,  it doesn't seem to be at that pitch. Ofcourse our media was kind enough to spend its headlines, for more than a day,  publicising with praises and criticisms . To all sensible and non-sensible questions and criticisms, ISRO  has answered them quite reasonably (and politely) well.
I have here, a copy of the "Letters to the Editor (The Hindu dt 26th)" which is a true reflection of what our public thinks.  To my surprise, I find a person wring thus  "When the Indian Cricket Team wins a tournament, every team member is richly rewarded.  Why not something for our Scientists ? "
That's great !!

Scientists to teach in Schools

There is a press report thus :
"Thousands of Government Scientists employed in various Depts and Laboratories will soon have to teach in Schools and undergraduate Colleges"

" Every Scientist, without exception, will have to take classes atleast 12 hours a year without any honorarium "
"An annual evaluation will be done of the work done by each Scientist and evry three years  a performance evaluation will be done"

"The modalities are being worked out with HRD Dept. It will be the Scientists' duty to complete this requirement."

ISRO Scientists, are you listening ?  Here is a golden opportunity to contribute a little more to the society.
And, why not this scheme be extended to the retired Scientists as well ?  Atleast on a voluntary basis !

Full pension for 20+ but -33 years service - Pre 2006 pensioners

In the case of "Full pension for 20> but <33 years sevice", persons with such status are requested to visit the ISCF official site for an important information and action.

They are adviced to send a representation though a letter to Chairman, ISRO and Director (of their respectice Centre) in a format similar to the one below.

I entered service in  ISRO ( xxxx Centre) on.. ... .   After .......years of service I retired on..........   Thus I didnot have 33 years of qualifying service to get full pension . Now the Ernakulam Bench of the Hon’ableCentral Administrative Tribunal in OA No.715/2012 and 1051/2012 has directed to extend thebenefits of full pension to those who do not have 33 years of qualifying service and retired prior  to 1.1.2006. Hence I request that I may be extended the full benefit of the above orders of the

Hon’able Central Administrative Tribunal.

Now it can be told

Do you now rememeber things which you wanted to tell but didnot tell that time, for whatever reasons it may be ?  Are you bold enough to tell those things now ?

While you were with ISRO, your good old days, you might have reserved your words, emotions, and responses  on many occassions. You did this may be  out of fear (of your colleagus, boss, or service rules)  or whatever reason it is.  But now you think "I should have done that the other way ".

The meeting of SCOVA, postponed many times for reasons unknown, is now scheduled on  5 Sept, 2014

+ 7 % DA from 1-7-2014

DA increase by 7% , wef  1-7-2014 is now approved by Government. The total DA is now 107 %
