It's budget time. And it seems it is just over !
We expected many things in the budget concerning us, the Central Pensioners. But ....
Let us put down a few points from the Budget news !
The salaried class are disappointed ( and certainly the pensioners too )
No increase in the minimum taxable limit. And, no reduction in personal tax rates. So be prepared to pay more Income Tax amount next year.
FM says, concessions were given (earlier) despite inadequate fiscal spaces. So, he didn't look at the employees and pensioners. But he also says " Lot to look forward to as fiscal capacity improves". That's right. He knows well about the carrot and stick policy. Well.... hope drives us all. So, let's hope the best.
Additional tax exemptions on premium payment towards health insurance and contribution towards pension. Yes, for the new employees . But what's for those pensioners ?
To highlight the absolute neglect, here is some statistics !
The FM referred the term "investment" as many as 60 times in his speech.
He also referred the term "infrastructure" as many as 30 times.
And he made reference to the words "OROP" or "Full Parity" 0 times.
And finally, the Good News is that the FM did not make any proposal to cut down our pensions. Thank God, That's the best news !
