OROP- Back to ground zero
Now the war is ON !! Politicinas' war Ruling Vs Opposition .
But what use ? The game of blame brings the OROP to "ground zero" conditions (Or do you call it "back to square one ? "
After many years of waiting for the implementation of OROP , the Defence forces now have to make the politicians understand the defenition and meaning of OROP. What a pity !

OROP ... approaching the last nail ?
The last news item of the day (I didn't want to make it the first ) is about the OROP.
Now, the Defense Minister says, there is no date fixed for the implementation of OROP. Moreover, they didn't understand /assess the full implications of it. So, wait ! (meaning, you my not get it atall )
He must have understood that the implecations are not just limited to the Defence staff !!
Here is the full news item from TheHindu.

Salary increase for MPs
MPs are about to get a salary hike. The news report below (TheHindu) gives why an how the increase now.
Let's wish all the best to the MPs. But I request all these MPs to demand and do justice to the Pensioners, by implementing OROP and Full Parity for the Pre-2006 retirees.
And dear MPs, kindly demand and support a justified pension payment (as per the demands placed by Pensioners' associations. Hope you'll do that... we all pray for that.

Tomorrow...tomorrow... The way the Govt .....
This is the way our Govt treats the Govt pensioners.
We, pensioners need not expect anything better. Certainly, "Ache Din" is not for us.
You will be convinced if you read the newspaper report (from The Hindu) given below.
Implementation of OROP is again put on "Tomorrow....Tomorrow.." . Don't think the politicians ( BJP or Congress or whoever..). What better could you expect from 7CPC implementation ?

Hot on Mars, But short everywhere else
Hot on Mars, but short everywhere else.
Today's BusinessLine carries an article by Sri. M. Matheswaran (Retd. Air Marshal). He writes " ISRO is steadily killing India's digital dreams with its inability to provide Satellite support, even for television".
A very serious allegation ( rather a statement of facts) on ISRO. He further quotes the CAG report and says " The CAG report has rightly blamed ISRO for poor planning and execution. It had planned for a target of 500 transponders on domestic satellites in the 11th Plan Period (2007-12) and further increasing to 800 transponders in the 12 th Plan (2012-17). In practice ISRO could operationalise only 187 transponders during this period".
Hey... dear all, what's happening there ? Our Nation and its people look at ISRO now through this lens. This makes me very sad. I am sure you all former ISROites would feel so.
Kirankumarji, are you listening ?
Here is the full article. Please read and comment.

Sleeping Media
Media is really funny. 'Malayala Manorama', it seems , was sleeping !
The news about the CAT judgement and subsequent litigations on this matter is no new news. Supreme Court directed the Government to implement the case of awarding full pension to those with less than 20 years service, and being Pre-2006.
However, please read the Malayalam news below from MM.

OROP and Finance Commission
The 14th Finance Commission , in its recent
report, have observed the following.
“A potential fiscal liability may arise in the future with the introduction of OROP scheme
for Defence services.”
Though a budget provision has been made in FY 2014-15
towards OROP, the payment has not been made. Hence the payment was deferred to FY
2015-16. The estimated increase on this
account is 6.62%.
The Finance Commission also stated that “ the pension expenditure may increase by 8.7 % in 2015-16,
and by 30 % in 2016-17.
This clearly indicates that 7CPC implementation would happen
only in 2016-17.
Govt's view on employees' demands
The JCM Standing
Committee meeting on 5-2-2015 at Delhi was an occasion for the Government to
show their mind on Pensioners (and
employees) demand of Interim relief and
DA merger. What the Government said is :
Interim Relief - IR
is normally given if there is an apprehension of abnormal delay. 7CPC has
confirmed that they would adhere to the time schedule . So, NO Interim Relief.
DA/DR merger - Since
the Pay Commision would be submitting their report soon, thequstion of merger
would automatically be addressed therein. So, NO DA merger.
Date of effect of implementation - It’s
te prerogative of the Pay Commission to recommend the date of effect. Govt’e
role comes only after the CPC report is made available.

In a communication to the AIFPA, Chennai, the Govt has intimated that :
" in so far as the extension of modified parity for pensioners retired before 1-1-2006 is concerned, the case was sub-judice as an SLP No. 36148-50/2013 filed by the Union of India was pending in Supreme Court of India. The said SLP has been dismissed by the Hon'rble Supreme Court on 17-03-2015. Further action after dismissal of SLP is under consideration in the Government"
"
Let's all pray that the "consideration" would become fruitful and immediate.
